I find that when I am most stressed out my knitting needles and crochet hooks are rarely out of my hands. It's my therapy. I've been working on this shawl for a while and I am so close to being done but just need one more ball of yarn. This shawl has eaten so much yarn. It has also eaten so much of my stress. Now that my degree is wrapping up I have been eagerly awaiting a much needed break. This is the first summer that we have no plans except to chill out and relax and we haven't made any big plans.
One big hiccup that has just come up is that our flat that we are renting has just been sold and the new owners have just let us know that they will be moving in in January. I'm pretty gutted, especially because we were under the impression that we were going to be able to stay long-term. My beautiful garden, which I have poured so much into this spring, will have to be dug up and transported to its new home, wherever that may be. I'm trying to take this challenge in stride and not get too overwhelmed by what it entails. We will just have to plan for a relaxing summer next year I suppose.
Things I will miss are our daily calls from the gibbons and the roars from the lions (we do live next to a zoo). We won't be able to hear the chimpanzees or baboons either. We really have loved every bit of noise to have come out of that place. I hope there are lots of Tui birds wherever we move. I sure do love their different sounds. I'm sure we will find some new things to fall in love with wherever we wind up.
I thought I would post a couple of photos of Matteo wearing the big shawl that I am making. He is also wearing a Wonder Woman costume that I made for him recently for a dress-up superhero party.
